Affordable Rental

This is the Literature for Composition: An Introduction to Literature (10th Edition). I used this book for my English Composition Class the second part. I looked around online for the cheapest alternative to rent a book for this class. I found the cheapest on Amazon. I saved about $20 more just by renting with amazon. For those complaining of the condition of the book I don't think it's fair this is a USED RENTAL it's not going to be brand new or spiffy as long as it gets the job done and does not impede you from passing class and is not like falling apart at the seams there should be no problem. The book came in fair condition. I keep in mind that this book has probably been used and flipped through by countless other students as well. In terms of content it's an English book the pieces of Literature that the authors chose were mostly either weird, or depressing and trust me I appreciate literature.

A fun and easy read for kids

STINK AND THE INCREDIBLE SUPER-GALACTIC JAWBREAKER is the second story centered on Judy Moody's younger brother Stink.

Stink Moody buys a huge jawbreaker at the candy store and sucks on it until his tongue is as blue as a skink. When the jawbreaker doesn't break his jaw, he writes a letter of complaint to the candy company. Much to his surprise, he receives a 10-pound box of jawbreakers in return. Stink is so excited that he begins a letter-writing campaign to see if he can get more free stuff.

But Stink is so preoccupied with letter writing that he hardly notices that his best friend, Webster, is mad at him. It takes Stink a while to figure out why Webster is so angry. Could it have something to do with the crumpled envelope he finds? Will he be able to patch things up with his friend? It will take a little creativity.

Megan McDonald is the author of the popular Judy Moody series as well as STINK: The Incredible Shrinking Kid. She got the idea for Stink's latest adventure by watching two kids in the candy section of the grocery store. They were in awe of giant, confetti-flecked jawbreakers. McDonald knew Stink would want one.

STINK AND THE INCREDIBLE SUPER-GALACTIC JAWBREAKER is a chapter book that young kids can really sink their teeth into. As an added bonus, the author has scattered idioms throughout the book. And at the end of the story is a list of idioms that the reader can hunt for.

Hi my name is Connor Z. and I think that Stink and the Super Galactic Jawbreaker by Megan McDonald is an awesome humor book! It's about a kid that has a jawbreaker. He gets mad because something happens to his jawbreaker. I am not going to tell you any more but I will tell you your kids will "love it"! It's good for grades 2 and 3 so go buy it!!!!!!

Fabulous Rock Star Romance!

It’s rare to find a contemporary romance that is equally hilarious, steamy, and touching, but Carol Pavliska’s debut, Color Me Crazy, has got it all. I laughed out loud too many times to count, even though parts of the story are heart-wrenching. It was fascinating to see the life of a rock star done honestly, without romanticizing the negative sides of the music industry. Yet, the music itself that Julian lives and breathes is definitely celebrated. Julian is my favorite character, with his synesthesia deftly woven into the story without being overblown. The characters are so well-developed that I feel like I know them personally—I sure hope to see more of them in the future. This book reminded me a bit of Susan Elizabeth Phillips, only funnier, sexier, and edgier. I loved the story and can’t wait to read more by Ms. Pavliska.

I don't usually read steamy romance novels, but I couldn't put Color Me Crazy down! Cleo and Julian are both well-written, well-developed characters. I was impressed with the author's description and treatment of synesthesia, and that she would even create a character with synesthesia, because there aren't that many of us around. The dialogue is clever, the characters are believable, and the storyline is solid. And the CHEMISTRY! Bravo to Carol Pavliska for an outstanding first novel... Can't wait to read more of her work in the future!

My love for this book runs deep!

Not only is this story a humorous, super-hot romance with amazing characters who have truly believable flaws and outrageous quirks (ones that kept me smiling or laughing throughout), but it's well-written and I.COULD.NOT.PUT.IT.DOWN. I've read this awesome story countless times already and can't seem to get enough of it. I regret nothing.

About the Author

Breck Baldwin has been building and flying model aircraft since he was a child. He founded the Brooklyn Aerodrome in 2005 to support flying art, education, and technology developments around remote-controlled aircraft. Baldwin authored a cover story for Make magazine, Volume 30, featuring the Towel, a delta-wing aircraft that can be built in an afternoon and for less than $100. He does professional flying engagements featuring custom-built art planes for festivals and corporate events. Baldwin also teaches adults and children how to build aircraft out of his studio. He has a PhD in computer science from the University of Pennsylvania and is the president and founder of LingPipe.

Surefire fun for Old and New Family Fliers

"DIY RC Airplanes from Scratch" is a perfect introduction to the would-be flier who might have been initially too afraid to undertake such a project. The book successfully takes the reader from land to air in easy steps which encourage experimentation, learning, family fun, and most importantly, trial and error. The initial build is outlined in easy steps which explain both the how and the why of each bit in the process. I particularly enjoyed the later chapter on aerodynamics which went into greater detail on the science of flying the "Flack." I am presently undertaking a Flack build with my kids aged, 4-9, and they are super excited to be taking part in this. Each step we take is a super fun exploration into Making, building, and exploring. We are really looking forward to our maiden flight down the road.

This is truly a book for the family who believes that the best times in life are spent together making something together. Go out and get yourself started. Thanks, Breck!

Breck Baldwin's "DIY RC Airplanes from Scratch" book is an absolute game changer. This is not your ordinary RC experience, but a unique process that is fun and easy to build, quick to fly, fun to decorate,
and is highly adaptable to experimental designs if you want to take it to the next level.

Early on my kids and I had a chance to test drive an early draft of the book. The step by step instructions, complete with detailed photographs, made the process fun and educational.
Now that the book is complete, it raises the bar in delivering clear, concise and detailed information in a fun and inspiring way.

We first saw Breck Baldwin's Brooklyn Aerodrome at the Maker Faire, where creative and innovative designs are showcased.
His demonstrations were drawing huge crowds and rave reviews.
The design, the precision flying capabilities, the off the shelf components and his description immediately inspired us and we knew that we had to build our own "Flack" (a Flying Hack).

The innovative design is well thought out. The design of the plane is unique in its ability to bring together stability, high performance acrobatics with an interchangeable components platform.
It is very light and has a large wingspan with significant power to dive, spin and loop. The soft frame has the components set further back on its own removable platform.
This innovative feature is not only safer, but allows for a quick change to another frame or design.

The modular approach, combined with inexpensive foam board, allows for quick experimentation with many design and decorating options.
This unique approach sets this book apart and will hopefully do its part in inspiring another generation of life long learners and help bring out the scientist in each of us.

Not only is it a great book for DIY enthusiasts, RC builders and model makers, but I would highly recommend this to parents, student groups and schools as a project that is fun to build and fly,
demonstrates the principles of physics, aerodynamics, electronics and brings out the creativity and passion for learning.

A must have for beginners and hobbyists

This book is very thorough - from the basics of aerodynamics and electronics, through the build of your first RC airplane, how to fly (and how to crash), and into advanced customization of your creation. The book promotes creativity and individuality. Easy and enjoyable to read for makers of any skill level. The book has plenty of photos detailing the procedure.

The build instructions walk you through every step of the process, and head off all potential mistakes that a reader/builder could make. It covers parts availability, alternatives, and suggestions for purchasing. This isn't like the instruction manual for a pre-fab RC kit - you can easily succeed even without every part and every tool. Anyone who has access to items like wire hangers and packing tape can end up with a very flyable plane.

In a way, the book also promotes making mistakes. Nothing that's worth doing in life isn't without making mistakes. The book (and the flack) show how easy it is to recover from a mistake and improve from it. This is a better alternative than being intimidated away from a project for fear of screwing it up.

I find it hard to write this review on only the book and not the design of the flack airplane - but both exert the same idea: doing a lot with just a little. Sometimes people just need to be shown that it's possible, in order for them to be inspired to try. This is the basis of the maker movement.

I first saw the flack (or the "towel" back then) at Maker Faire 2011. When I saw the kit available at the Faire in 2012, I immediately purchased the kit, and am glad that I did. Fun to build, fun to fly, and recovers easily from crashes. The plane travels well and I know that it's good for plenty of flying for years to come.

Social Studies Book for 7th Grade

Just what we needed! It is amazing how much homework there is in middle school now! This has enabled us to finish homework and study for tests at home since the kids have to leave their "school" textbooks at school. This book was listed as used but looks BRAND NEW. Awesome deal.

Great product, fastly shipped and kids loved it

Exactly as described by seller. Was slightly used but in great condition. Easy read and easy for kids to follow. The children and myself approve :) Also in the beginning of each section has a page that describes what is going to be taught in chapter; perfect for discussion before student does the chapter. Then at the end of the lesson there is a review for student.

A well rounded version of American history

I needed to brush up on my American history and this is a great book to use for that. If I were back in school I would enjoy history class, I've always been a history buff. Lots of charts, pictures & illustrations. Book arrived quickly and seller was great to deal with.
